If you do want to go for a bike ride in Taiwan, this is THE place you should rent your bike from.

Lois and Peter helped me a lot during my planning phase (answering all my questions :-)), they brought the bike to my hotel on time and took it back from me from the hotel again.

The bike was in perfect condition. With their experience they even thought about additional stuff (like a lock, additional lights,.. ) I might have forgotten, which definitely was also very helpful.

I rented a bicycle for 2 weeks in December 2022 to go around Taiwan and explore the island.

Lois and Peter were always super responsive to all my messages, before and after I arrived. They conveniently deliver and pick-up the bike at the places I stayed in Taipei and also gave me many information about cycling in Taiwan, interesting routes to take and other taiwanese specificities. The prices are good and the bikes too!

Speaking about bikes: my first bike had a small issue and we all agreed to change it in the middle of the trip: this was also super easy to do, thanks to the reactivity of Lois and Peter, and the convenience of taiwanese transportation system. Ultimately, both bikes were very good (better than at home!)

I’m super glad I went through them before coming and I would go through them again if I’m doing this adventure again in the future: Taiwan still has a lot to offer after only 2 weeks, and Lois and Peter made it super simple to enjoy the island! 👋

Renting a road bike from Peter (the owner of Bike Express) was the best experience ever! Very clear and straightforward communication and all expenses, deposit, etc… were clearly stated on the form when I picked up the bike. The Audax M3 that I rented was fully equipped (lights, spare tires, pannier rack, bags,…) and Peter installed the Look Keo pedals I asked for free of charge. The bike itself was in very good condition and never had any problems during my 1 week travel in Northern Taiwan. I would highly recommend renting a bike from Peter if you want to explore Taiwan’s beautiful scenery by bike. Taiwan did a great effort on building a nice cycling infrastructure, so there are plenty of designated cycling paths. Next summer I will definitely rent a bike from Peter again.

– excellently well built and well maintained bikes (i rented the Audax Hercules) – i took the bike from taichung up to sun moon lake – the route took me through the city, provincial highways, a long stretch of dirt road where large 18 wheelers passed me every few minutes or so (for a good 5km), and finally up (and down) the incline over the last 30km to sun moon lake. the bike withstood everything that the terrain and weather could throw at it, and was still light and nimble and agile as when i first left taichung

– flexible payment arrangements
– clear, concise logistics instructions

highly recommended for anyone looking to rent a bike in taiwan, it made my stay all that more enjoyable. They truly deserve their 5-star rating
